Leading scientists in the aerospace industry discussed the creation of an industry scientific journal

On May 26, 2025, the National Center for Space Research and Technology (NCSRT) held a round table discussion entitled “Scientific Journal for Aerospace Research: Algorithm for Creation and Development.” The event was held in a hybrid format and brought together representatives of scientific organizations subordinate to the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as invited experts from leading domestic universities.

During the round table, the key stages of preparing and launching a national scientific journal, designed to become a professional platform for publishing the results of Kazakhstani and international research in the field of aerospace technologies and related sciences, were discussed in detail. Participants discussed:

  • the concept of the journal and the target topics for publications;
  • the procedure for forming the editorial board;
  • legal and technical aspects of state registration of the publication as a media outlet;
  • requirements and procedures for obtaining international ISSN and DOI identifiers.

Particular attention was paid to the development of editorial policy, including requirements for authors, review standards, and anti-plagiarism checks in accordance with the recommendations of the international community (COPE). The experts shared their experience in organizing electronic publishing based on open journal management systems (Open Journal Systems) and alternative platforms, emphasizing the need for a user-friendly interface, multilingualism, and adaptive design for the future website of the publication.

Following the discussions, a preliminary list of possible names for the journal was approved, the main areas of publication were defined, and the editorial board was formed.
The contact person for the project is Dr. Meirbekov Mohammed.
The National Center for Space Research and Technology JSC thanks all participants and invited experts for their active work, constructive suggestions, and willingness to continue cooperation in creating a high-quality and competitive Kazakhstani scientific journal in the field of aerospace research.
