A scientific article titled “Multimatrix Composite Materials for Rocket Nozzle Manufacturing: A Comparative Review”, prepared by the research team of JSC “National Center of Space Research and Technology” (NCSRT), has been published in the reputable international journal Polymers (MDPI), which is ranked Q1 in both the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
The authors of the study are Mokammed Meiirbekov, Mukhammad Sadykov, Assem Kuandyk, Marat Nurguzhin, Marat Janikeyev, Gulmayra Partizan, Laura Mustafa, and Nurmakhan Yesbolov.
The article presents a comprehensive review of modern composite materials used in the production of rocket nozzles and thermal protection components for rocket engines. The authors analyzed the main types of composites – carbon-carbon (C/C), carbon-ceramic (C/SiC, SiC/SiC), as well as metallic and polymer-based systems. Particular attention is given to the influence of material structure, manufacturing methods (CVI, PIP, powder metallurgy, filament winding, etc.), and technological parameters on the thermal resistance, strength, and service life of components.
Publication in a Q1-level journal confirms the scientific potential of NCSRT and demonstrates that Kazakhstani research teams are developing their own expertise in materials science for rocket and space technologies. The research results have practical value for designers of lightweight launch vehicles, thermal protection systems, and nozzle assemblies.
This work was carried out within the framework of NCSRT’s applied research on jet propulsion and aims to enhance Kazakhstan’s scientific and technological potential in the field of space technologies.
