The National Center for Space Research and Technology (NCSRIT) held a roundtable discussion for young people about space.

On December 3, 2025, the National Center for Space Research and Technology (NCSRIT) hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Space for Youth.” Marat Dzhanikeyev, Chairman of the Board of NCSRIT, and Marat Nurguzhin, Scientific Director of NCSRIT, participated.

The event was part of the Almaty TRIZ & PRIZ & Hypothesis Mapping Week series of expert meetings and was organized for participants in the Kazakhstan Smart Space international space technology and engineering competitions, as well as for members of the “Baikonur Future in the Hands of Youth!” Club of Young Scientists, Engineers, and Tech Entrepreneurs.

The goal of the roundtable was to create a platform for open dialogue between NCSRIT management and young researchers, schoolchildren, and students interested in space technology development. The discussion focused on engaging young people in national scientific and engineering projects, developing competencies in rocket science, satellite technology, and materials science, as well as using TRIZ, PRIZ, and Hypothesis Mapping methods in project activities.

Marat Dzhanikeyev emphasized the importance of developing a sustainable youth engineering school and noted that the national space industry needs new personnel willing to work on developing promising technologies.

In turn, Marat Nurguzhin spoke about the NCKIT projects, in which young specialists, graduate students, and school teams are already actively participating, including suborbital research and the development of research laboratories.

The event was attended by winners and finalists of the Kazakhstan Smart Space competitions, schoolchildren and students, young engineers, and mentors from NCKIT laboratories. The roundtable format included question-and-answer sessions, project discussions, and individual consultations.

The roundtable became an important element of the systemic work to develop youth competencies in the space sector. The National Center for Space Technologies (NCST) will continue to support initiatives aimed at training a new generation of engineers and researchers capable of contributing to the development of Kazakhstan’s national space industry.
