Intellectual Property and Science: A Thematic Lecture Held at NCSRT

JSC «National Centre for Space Research and Technology» (NCSRT) hosted a thematic lecture titled «Protection of Inventions and Utility Models in the Republic of Kazakhstan», focusing on patenting and intellectual property (IP) protection. The event featured T.A. Azanova, Chief Patent Specialist of the Patent Information Centre at the National Scientific and Technical Library, as the keynote speaker. 

In an era of rapid scientific and technological advancement, safeguarding intellectual property has become strategically vital. The lecture addressed key topics such as: key stages of patenting in Kazakhstan, requirements for application submissions and patentability criteria, legal protection mechanisms for inventions and utility models, еnforcement of rights for authors and patent holders, practical implementation of patent law in research and development (R&D). 

Special emphasis was placed on IP commercialization strategies and effective patent portfolio management. Held as an open dialogue, the session encouraged active participation, with experts analyzing real-world patent cases, dissecting complex legal scenarios, and offering actionable advice for leveraging patent law in professional settings. 

NCSRT continues to advance its legal support program for innovation by organizing educational and advisory initiatives. These efforts aim to cultivate a robust patent culture and enhance the management of scientific outcomes.
