«National Centre for Space Research and Technology» JSC celebrates International Children’s Day with master classes on space technologies

On 28 May 2025, «National Centre for Space Research and Technology» (NCSRT) JSC held a thematic event for students of the Palace of Schoolchildren in Almaty in the format of a fascinating ‘space journey’. The purpose of the event was to popularise space sciences and modern technologies among schoolchildren, as well as to introduce the key areas of NCSTC’s activities.

The event began with a video greeting by Zhasulan Madiev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his address, the Minister emphasised the strategic importance of preparing the younger generation to work in high-tech industries, and also noted the issues of cyber security.

Then the children were personally welcomed by Marat Dzhanikeev, Chairman of the Board of NCSRT, who spoke about the main directions of NCSRT’s activities, introduced the mentors and gave a briefing on safety rules and the sequence of activities.

Subsequently, the schoolchildren attended three masterclasses under the direct supervision of NCSRT specialists.

During the first master class, «Electronics and board assembly», the participants were told about the principles of on-board electronics and helped to assemble a simple sensor module.

During the second practical class, «3D scanning and additive manufacturing», participants were shown how a 3D scanner and a 3D printer work, and students independently modelled elements of space equipment.

During the third master-class «Composite materials» the schoolchildren got acquainted with the technologies of manufacturing and testing of composite parts for rocket and satellite structures.

At the end of the event the children expressed their gratitude to the organisers and promised to continue studying exact sciences.

NCSRT thanks the Palace of Schoolchildren of Almaty for active participation and organisation of this event.
