The National Center for Space Research and Technology presented cutting-edge research results at the 15th International Conference APFITA 2025 in Indonesia

Leading Researcher A. Egizbaeva and Researcher K. Konstantinov of the Laboratory for Space Monitoring of Agricultural Production at the National Center for Space Research and Technology participated in the 15th International Conference of APFITA 2025, an international scientific forum held in Bogor, Indonesia.
The APFITA conference annually brings together leading global experts in agricultural information technology. The event has become a strategic platform for knowledge sharing, discussing innovations, establishing scientific collaboration, and presenting research for publication in Scopus-indexed journals. APFITA 2025 also highlighted Indonesia’s role as an agricultural country with high potential for implementing IT solutions for sustainable agricultural systems.
At the conference, NCSRT researchers presented two papers:
- “AI-Driven Remote Sensing for Monitoring Land Use and Water Dynamics in the Transboundary Balkhash Lake Basin”;
- “Remote Sensing and Statistical Crop Yield Integration for Assessing Water Use Efficiency: A Case Study of Zhambyl Region, Kazakhstan.”
An important part of the visit was a visit to the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency’s (BRIN) Satellite Technology Research Center. During the meeting:
- Scientific contacts were established with Indonesian researchers;
- Experiences in space monitoring were exchanged;
- BRIN specialists demonstrated modern research equipment;
- A tour of the Mission Control Center was organized;
- The capabilities of LAPAN satellites were presented.
The parties exchanged contacts and confirmed their interest in further scientific cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the field of space monitoring and sustainable environmental management.
