The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the National Space Center

On May 14, 2025, a delegation of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev visited the National Space Center on a working visit.

The delegation included members of the Senate and representatives of relevant government agencies.

During the meeting, an extended meeting was held to discuss key issues in the development of the Kazakhstan space industry. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including:

  • overcoming the personnel shortage and improving the quality of specialized education,
  • development of the national satellite program and Earth remote sensing systems,
  • commercialization of space projects and scientific developments,
  • development of launch services based on domestic infrastructure,
  • prospects for the formation of a national missile program as part of the country’s technological sovereignty.

The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev presented the parliamentarians with a strategic vision for the development of the industry. Vice Minister Malik Olzhabekov and Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of the DDIAI of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baubek Oralmagambetov also spoke about plans and current projects.

Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that the space industry is an important element in strengthening national sovereignty and security. He noted that the Head of State pays special attention to the accelerated development of high-tech areas, including the aerospace sector, as a priority part of Kazakhstan’s innovation agenda.

JSC “National Center for Space Research and Technology” considers the visit of the Senate delegation as an important sign of support and recognition of the importance of Kazakhstan’s space science. The Center will continue to work on expanding scientific and technical potential, developing infrastructure and implementing priority projects in the interests of the country.
